GPS Logger with Battery Saver tracks your walking, running, and cycling routes automatically — even when the app is closed. Tap Start to begin, tap Stop when you're done, and the full route is saved to your History. Adjust the distance interval between 10 m and 100 m to find the right balance between tracking accuracy and battery consumption.
Location data keeps recording even after you lock the screen or switch to another app. Put your phone in your pocket and go — GPS Logger continues tracking your route in the background throughout your entire walk, run, or ride.
Choose a distance interval of 10 m, 25 m, 50 m, or 100 m from the Settings tab. A shorter interval captures more detail but uses more battery. A longer interval stretches battery life for extended outings. Pick the setting that fits your activity.
While logging, your path is drawn as a live blue line on the map. The view follows your current position automatically so you always know where you are and which way you've come. The route updates each time a new location point is recorded.
Every completed session is saved to the History tab with its date, start time, end time, and duration. Tap any past session to see the full route drawn on a map, complete with a start flag and a finish flag marking where you began and ended.
Tap the large green Start button on the Logger tab and recording begins immediately. The button switches to a red Stop button while logging is active. Tap Stop when you're finished and the session is saved automatically. No accounts, no setup — just tap and go.
The distance filter setting in the Settings tab controls how often a location point is saved — once per 10 m, 25 m, 50 m, or 100 m of movement. For a short neighborhood walk where route detail matters, use 10 m. For a long cycling trip where battery life is the priority, use 100 m. The setting takes effect immediately without restarting the logger.
During an active session, the route appears as a blue polyline on the map that grows as you move. When you review a past session from History, the route reappears in purple with a green start-flag annotation and a checkered finish-flag annotation showing exactly where each session began and ended.
Open the app and grant location permission when prompted. Tap the green Start button before your walk, run, or ride. Tap Stop when you're back. The route is saved and waiting in the History tab. That's the entire workflow — straightforward by design.
Open the Settings tab and select a distance interval: 10 m for high-detail short routes, 25 m for everyday use (default), or 50–100 m when battery life is the priority. The change takes effect immediately.
Tap the green Start button on the Logger tab. Put your phone in your pocket — GPS Logger records your position in the background the entire time you're moving, even with the screen off.
When you reach your destination, tap the red Stop button. The session ends, your route is saved, and the map zooms out to show the complete path you traveled.
"I use this every morning for my walking route. It keeps tracking in the background without draining the battery too fast — I set the interval to 50 m and it's been a good balance. The map view after each walk is a nice way to see how far I went."
"Perfect for cycling. I tap Start before I leave and Stop when I'm back, and the full route is there in History. The start and finish flag markers on the map are a nice touch. Simple app that does exactly what it promises."
"I tried a few GPS tracking apps and this one stood out for being genuinely simple. No accounts to create, no complicated dashboards — just Start, ride, Stop. The battery saver angle is real too; 100 m intervals work great for long rides."
