Real pool. Right in your pocket.

Pool: Real 9-Ball Billiards brings the authentic feel of a billiards table to your iPhone. Realistic physics simulate true ball behavior — collisions, cushion rebounds, spin, and friction — while a procedurally generated wood-frame table and worn felt surface set the scene. Swipe to pull back the cue, aim, release to shoot. Pocket balls 1 through 9 in order, sink the 9-ball to win. No sign-up, no tutorial walls — just rack, aim, and shoot.

Intuitive Swipe-to-Shoot Controls

Tap and drag to pull the cue back, then release to shoot. The direction and length of your swipe set the aim and power — no buttons, no sliders. Power is capped automatically, so you can focus on aiming and strategy right from the first shot.

Realistic Physics Engine

Every ball collision, cushion rebound, and rolling deceleration is driven by a precision physics engine. Balls behave like real pool balls — they spin, slow naturally from friction, and chain off each other in ways that feel authentic every time.

Beautiful Table and Visuals

The table features a procedurally generated wood-grain frame and a worn-felt playing surface rendered with layered CI filters. Six pockets, per-ball colors, a striped 9-ball, ball shadows, and a rotating number animation as balls roll all add up to a visually rich billiards experience.

Full 9-Ball Rules

Authentic 9-ball pool: rack balls 1–9, hit the lowest-numbered ball first each shot, and pocket the 9-ball to win. Scratch the cue ball and it's a loss. Results appear on screen and a single tap restarts the game instantly.

Swipe to Shoot — Aim and Power in One Gesture

Press and drag anywhere on screen to pull the cue back. Your swipe direction determines where you're aiming; the distance determines how hard you hit. Release to fire. The cue animates through a follow-through stroke before the cue ball rockets off. Maximum power is capped so there's no frustration from overshooting. When all balls stop moving, it's your turn again. After a game ends, tap anywhere to restart instantly — balls rack themselves automatically.

CONTROL
PHYSICS

Physics That Feel Like Real Pool

Ball mass, restitution, friction, linear damping, and angular damping are all tuned to produce authentic billiards behavior. Thin cuts, bank shots off cushions, clusters breaking apart on impact — the physics engine handles it all. Precise collision detection catches even glancing contacts. Balls slow gradually as friction takes hold and come to rest naturally, exactly like a real table. Each rack plays out differently, keeping every game fresh.

A Table Worth Playing On

The wood-grain frame is generated procedurally using randomized bezier curves for natural-looking grain patterns. The playing surface uses stacked Core Image filters — motion blur, lighten blend, overlay — to produce a convincing worn-felt texture. Pocket shapes are trimmed to corners and center rails. Each ball has its own color, the 9-ball carries a white stripe, and as balls roll, their numbers animate in a perspective-correct rotation effect that makes the table feel alive.

VISUAL
RULES

9-Ball Rules, Fully Implemented

Balls 1–9 are racked in a diamond pattern at the start of each game: the 1-ball at the front apex, the 9-ball in the center, and 2–8 shuffled randomly. You must contact the lowest-numbered ball first on every shot. Pocket any ball legally along the way — pocket the 9-ball (even on a combination shot) and you win. Scratch the cue ball into a pocket and the game ends as a loss. A clear win/lose overlay appears with a restart prompt; tap to play again immediately.

Swipe. Shoot. Sink the 9.

3 Steps to Play

1
Open the app and the table is ready

Launch the app and the table sets itself up instantly — balls racked, cue ball in position, cue ready to go. No registration, no tutorial to skip. Just play.

2
Swipe to aim and shoot

Tap and drag in the direction opposite to where you want to shoot. The cue follows your drag. Release to fire. Wait for all balls to stop, then plan your next shot.

3
Pocket the 9-ball to win

Work through the rack, pocketing balls in legal order. Sink the 9-ball and you win. Scratch the cue ball and it's a loss. Either way, tap the screen to rack up and play again.

What Players Are Saying

"The physics are surprisingly solid. Cushion rebounds feel natural, and you can actually play position — it's not just random. Great game to pick up for a few minutes whenever you have downtime."

— billiards_fan_tanaka

"The swipe controls clicked immediately. I was lining up combination shots within a few minutes. The table looks great and the whole thing feels polished. Way better than I expected from a mobile pool game."

— casual_gamer_yamada

"Love that it actually follows 9-ball rules properly — hitting the lowest ball first, scratch rules, everything. The restart is instant so you're never waiting around. Just fun, no fluff."

Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions below.

QWhat are the 9-ball rules used in the game?

ABalls 1 through 9 are racked in a diamond. On every shot you must strike the lowest-numbered ball on the table first. You can pocket any ball legally in the process. Sink the 9-ball — including on a combination — and you win. Pocket the cue ball (scratch) and the game ends as a loss.
QHow do I control the cue?

ATap and drag anywhere on screen. The direction of your drag sets the aim (the cue points the opposite way), and the drag distance sets the power. Release your finger to shoot. There are no extra buttons or power meters — one gesture does everything.
QWhat happens after the game ends?

AA win or loss screen appears with a brief message explaining the result. Tap anywhere on the screen to restart immediately. The balls rack themselves automatically and the game begins fresh.
QAre the balls arranged randomly each game?

AYes and no. The 1-ball is always at the front of the rack and the 9-ball is always in the center — as per standard 9-ball rules. Balls 2 through 8 are shuffled randomly, so every rack plays out differently.
QIs there a multiplayer or two-player mode?

AThe current version is single-player only. You play against the table, aiming to legally pocket all balls and sink the 9-ball before a scratch ends the game.
