Pokayoke is an iOS app that prevents shipping errors and simplifies inventory through barcode scanning. Load your checklist from a text or CSV file, point the camera at each barcode, and get an instant OK or NG result. Duplicates, unlisted barcodes, and missed items are detected automatically — no manual cross-referencing required. Quantity Check mode tracks how many times each barcode has been scanned and compares it against your expected count. Eliminate picking mistakes with nothing but your iPhone.
Load your shipping list from a text or CSV file, then scan each item's barcode. The app instantly flags unlisted barcodes, duplicates, and missed items as NG — so every mistake is caught before the box leaves the shelf.
Load a file with product codes and expected counts (separated by a tab), and the app tracks how many times each barcode is scanned. Perfect for inventory counts, receiving inspections, and pick quantity verification.
Each scan produces an immediate OK or NG result on screen. A beep confirms OK; vibration alerts you to NG. After finishing, a summary screen shows the overall result at a glance — all clear or attention required.
Export a checklist from any spreadsheet app and load it directly into Pokayoke. Files can be transferred via email attachment, AirDrop, iCloud Drive, or any file-sharing method — no special format conversion needed.
Prepare your checklist in advance as a plain text or CSV file — one product code per line for Barcode Check, or a tab-separated code-and-quantity file for Quantity Check. Transfer it to your iPhone via email, AirDrop, or any file-sharing method, then open it in the app with the built-in file picker. That's all the setup required.
On the scan screen, point the camera at any barcode and the app reads it automatically. OK scans produce a beep; NG scans trigger vibration so you know immediately without looking away. Duplicates, out-of-list codes, and quantity overruns are all caught on the spot. Pokayoke supports 14+ barcode types — QR, Code128, EAN-13, Data Matrix, and more — so it works with virtually any product in your warehouse.
Tap "Finish Poka-yoke" and the result screen appears instantly. A color-coded summary banner at the top tells you whether everything passed or if attention is required. Below it, each barcode's result is listed with OK or NG and the reason for any failure. In Quantity Check mode, expected and actual counts are shown side by side so you can see at a glance which items are short or over.
Toggle beep sound and vibration on or off independently. Choose which barcode types the camera will recognize — enable only the symbologies used in your facility to reduce false reads and speed up scanning. Settings are saved automatically and apply from the next session onward.
Choose Barcode Check or Quantity Check, then open your prepared checklist file using the built-in file picker. Transfer the file to your iPhone in advance via email, AirDrop, or cloud storage. The app will ask for camera permission the first time — tap Allow to continue.
Point the camera at each barcode and the app reads it automatically. A beep confirms OK; vibration means NG. Keep scanning until all items are covered, then tap "Finish Poka-yoke" to move to the result screen.
The result screen shows a summary banner — green for all clear, red for attention required — followed by a full list of each barcode's OK/NG status and failure reason. In Quantity Check mode, expected and actual counts are shown for each item.
"We were cross-referencing paper lists by eye for every shipment. Since switching to this app, our shipping errors have dropped dramatically. Loading a file and scanning takes almost no training — I got our staff up and running in minutes."
"I use this for inventory counts. I export a spreadsheet to text, load it in the app, and scan the shelves. The side-by-side expected vs. actual display makes it immediately obvious where the discrepancies are. Huge time saver."
"We handle a lot of SKUs with small quantities, so picking mistakes were a constant problem. This app lets us catch errors in the moment with the NG vibration. Being able to limit which barcode types the camera reads has also eliminated a lot of false reads on our floor."
