Secret Savings is a simple iPhone app for privately recording your personal savings and spending. Log money saved and money spent by category, set a goal amount, and track your progress with a real-time balance and progress bar. Browse, edit, or delete your transaction history anytime.
Tap the Saved or Spent button on the home screen to add a record. Enter the amount, category, date, and an optional memo, then tap Save. The running balance updates instantly.
Enter a goal name and target amount to display a progress bar on the home screen. The app divides your current balance by the target to show how close you are — and exactly how much you still need to reach your goal.
Assign each record to one of seven categories — Food, Transport, Hobby, Social, Supplies, Housing, or Other. Each category has an emoji icon for quick visual recognition.
Every transaction is listed in the history screen in reverse chronological order. Tap any record to open the edit screen and update the amount, category, date, or memo. Swipe left to delete a record.
The home screen shows the running total — all saved amounts minus all spent amounts — as a large, prominent figure. If the balance goes negative it turns red as a visual warning. All data is stored locally on the device with SwiftData, so no internet connection is needed and nothing is sent to external servers.
Once you enter a goal name and target amount in Goal Settings, a progress bar appears on the home screen. The app computes current balance divided by target amount and updates the bar in real time. When the goal is reached, a congratulations message appears showing the total saved. Goals can be updated at any time and the previous goal is overwritten.
Transactions are sorted newest-first. Tapping a row opens the same Add Transaction screen pre-filled with the saved values — the cancel button is hidden in edit mode so the only action is Save, keeping the flow clean. Swipe-to-delete is available for records you no longer need.
The history button increments a tap counter. On every even tap a rewarded ad is presented via RewardedAdManager; when the ad is dismissed the app navigates to the history screen automatically. If the ad fails to load the navigation proceeds without an ad. Banner ads are displayed at the bottom of the home, add transaction, goal settings, and history screens.
On the home screen tap the Saved button to log money you have set aside, or Spent to log money you have used. Enter the amount, pick a category, choose a date, and add an optional memo before saving.
Tap the goal area on the home screen to open Goal Settings. Enter a goal name and target amount, then save. A progress bar showing how far you have come — and how much is left — appears on the home screen.
Tap the History button in the top right to see all your records. Tap any entry to edit it, or swipe left to delete it. Keep your records accurate and up to date.
"I tried several budget apps but they were all too complicated to stick with. This one is refreshingly simple — just tap Saved or Spent, enter the amount, and you're done. Seeing the progress bar inch toward my goal every week is genuinely motivating. The category icons make it easy to scan at a glance."
"I'm using this to save for a vacation. Being able to name the goal and watch the progress bar move is a small thing but it keeps me on track. The history edit feature is handy for fixing typos. Clean design and nothing unnecessary — exactly what I wanted."
"I record every small saving right when it happens — skipping a coffee, packing lunch — and it adds up surprisingly fast. Looking back at the history and seeing dozens of entries gives a real sense of accomplishment. Simple, private, and does exactly what it says."
