PhotoSafeGuard lets you check and remove the GPS location data embedded in any photo from your iPhone library. Select a photo and its shooting location appears on a map. Tap one button to strip the GPS data and save a clean copy to a dedicated "NoGPS Photos" album — ready to post, send, or share without revealing where you were.
Select any photo from your library and its GPS coordinates are displayed as a pin on an interactive map. Instantly see whether a photo has location data embedded before you share it — no guessing required.
Tap the "Remove GPS Data" button and PhotoSafeGuard strips the location metadata from the photo. A clean copy is saved to a dedicated album — the original stays untouched in your library, so you never lose anything.
Every photo with GPS removed is saved to the "NoGPS Photos" album automatically. When you need a location-safe photo to post or send, just open that album — no hunting through your full library.
When a selected photo has no GPS data, PhotoSafeGuard displays its other EXIF metadata — capture date, camera model, ISO, shutter speed, and more — so you can see exactly what information remains in the file.
Choosing a photo from your library triggers an instant GPS lookup. If location data is present, the shooting location appears as a red pin on a live map. You can see the precise spot where the photo was taken before deciding whether to share it. Photos without GPS show a clear "no location data" indicator instead — nothing is hidden.
Tapping "Remove GPS Data" creates a new copy of the photo with the GPS dictionary stripped from its EXIF metadata. All other image data — pixels, capture date, camera settings — is preserved exactly as-is. The original photo remains in your library, untouched. Everything happens on-device; nothing is uploaded anywhere.
Every cleaned photo is automatically added to the "NoGPS Photos" album in your photo library. That gives you a ready-made collection of safe-to-share photos. Post from the album directly, or pick files from it when sharing via Messages, email, or social media — no need to remember which copies have been processed.
When no photo is selected, PhotoSafeGuard displays your current device location on the map. Location permission is requested transparently on first launch, and the app works normally whether or not you grant it. Privacy is built into every layer of the design — not bolted on as an afterthought.
Tap the "+" button in the top-left corner to open your photo library. Select the photo you want to check. If it contains GPS data, the shooting location appears on the map immediately.
If the map shows a location pin, tap the "Remove GPS Data" button that appears at the bottom of the screen. PhotoSafeGuard strips the GPS metadata and saves a clean copy to the "NoGPS Photos" album.
Open the "NoGPS Photos" album to find your location-free photos. Post them to social media, send them to friends, or share them however you like — with no embedded location to worry about.
"I post a lot of photos online and always worried about location data being visible. This app makes it dead simple — I can see the location on a map, remove it with one tap, and post the clean copy. I use it every time before sharing photos now."
"I share photos of my kids regularly but was nervous about GPS data being embedded. PhotoSafeGuard removes the location before I send anything, and it keeps the original safe too. That part really matters to me — nothing gets deleted."
"I mainly use it to check which photos have location data before I decide what to share. The map view makes that instant. Clean and straightforward — exactly what I needed. The dedicated NoGPS album keeps everything organized too."
