1Introduction

Studio Magic (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy applies to our mobile application 笑顔セラピー (Smile Therapy) and explains our practices regarding information.

2General Data Collection Policy

Except for the locally processed camera/facial data described in Section 3, we do not collect, store, use, or share any personal information or personally identifiable data from users of our App.

For clarity, apart from the facial landmark data used to calculate an in-app smile score, we do not collect any of the following:

Personal identifiers such as your name, email address, or physical address.
Contact information such as your phone number or contacts list.
Device-specific information, such as device identifiers (e.g., IDFA).
Usage data, analytics, or crash reports.
Any other information that could be used to identify you or your device externally.

3Camera and Facial Data Collection and Usage

Our App includes a “Smile Measurement” feature that gives users real-time feedback on their smile, for self-improvement purposes only. This feature is not used for identification or authentication of any kind. In compliance with Apple’s guidelines, we provide the following details regarding our handling of camera/face data:

Data Collected: When you use the Smile Measurement feature, we use Apple’s built-in Vision framework to analyze camera input on your device and detect facial landmarks (such as the position of your mouth and eyebrows) in order to calculate a “smile score.” We do not save or store the actual facial images or video frames themselves.
Purpose of Use: The resulting smile score (a number), whether a face was detected, and the duration of the measurement session are used solely to show you your own progress and history within the App.
Data Storage and Sharing: This data (score, face-detected flag, and duration) is stored locally and securely within the App’s database on your device only. It is never uploaded to external servers, cloud storage, or shared with any third party, including any third-party AI service. All facial analysis occurs entirely offline, on-device.
Data Retention: This data is retained on your device until you delete the App, at which point it is permanently removed along with the rest of the App’s local storage.

4Diagnosis and Training Records

The App also includes a self-assessment quiz (“笑顔診断”) and guided training exercises. Your answers, resulting score/type, and completed training sessions are stored locally on your device only, and are not shared with any third party.

5In-App Purchases

Purchases are processed entirely by Apple through StoreKit. We do not collect or have access to your payment card details; these are handled directly by Apple in accordance with Apple’s own privacy practices.

6Other Network Requests

The App displays a small in-app banner promoting our other apps. To do so, it fetches a static list of app names/links from our server. This request does not include any personal data, camera data, or facial data.

7Disclosure to Third Parties

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your information (including camera/facial data) to any third parties.

8Children’s Privacy

Our App does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.

9Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
